While we can ship your slab unfinished, it’s vital that live edge is finished to preserve it for years to come. Unfinished wood is more likely to suffer from wear and tear from moisture, pests, and everyday use.

Our woodworkers offer nine different finishes with additional sheen options for select finishes. Whether you want to stain the wood to highlight the grain or maintain as much of the natural look and feel as possible, we have an option for you.

Epoxy Options For Added Color

Alongside finishing, we can add epoxy resin to the slab. Available in more than a dozen different colors, the epoxy fills in the natural gaps, cracks, and knots within the wood. 

This not only creates a more even surface, but it offers a unique aesthetic that highlights the imperfections of the wood with striking colors. 

Caring For Live Edge

Every piece of wood is unique, so it might have individual needs, but there are some general live edge care practices that you can follow to help preserve your slab.

Avoid abrasive cleaners; these can damage the finish and the underlying wood. Instead, clean any spills promptly with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary, then wipe dry.

Finally, a wax-based furniture polish can help protect the finish and enhance the natural beauty of the wood. Apply this a few times a year, following the manufacturer's instructions.

Live edge slabs typically ship in 1 week or less but if the slab requires epoxy resin or other customization it could take up to 2 weeks.
