Made by using the finest solid hard maple and walnut these cutting boards are practically indestructible. The standard cutting boards come with square corners and have a 1/8" radius on all edges. All of our butcher block cutting boards come pre-treated with mineral oil. It is recommended that you apply another coat of Hardwood Lumber Company butcher block oil or butcher block conditioner before using cutting board for the first time. We can also make unfinished cutting boards if you don't want them sealed with mineral oil. Hardwood Lumber Company butcher block cutting boards are of the best quality wood cutting boards available. Most of our woodworkers are from the local Amish community. A water-resistant glue is used for all our butcher block cutting boards. If we don't have your cutting board size and/or wood species listed, contact us for a custom cutting board quote.

Butcher block cutting boards ship in 2 to 3 weeks.

Hard Maple

Hard Maple sapwood is creamy white with a slight reddish brown tinge and the heartwood varies from light to dark reddish brown. Hard Maple has a close fine, uniform texture and is generally straight-grained. Hard Maple is hard and heavy with good strength properties, in particular its high resistance to abrasion and wear. We use only the higher quality grades of Hard Maple lumber for our products.

Maple and Walnut Butcher Block Cutting Board

Bought the 10 in. x 16 in. x 1.25 in. striped maple and walnut cutting board. It is not only aesthetically beautiful but the workmanship is superb. But I'm not surprised with the quality and beauty of the piece because I've previously purchased a couple of white oak butcher blocks and a back-splash from HLC . I was impressed the first time so I ordered again and HLC did not disappoint. I chose the mineral oil treated cutting board and when it was delivered I lightly washed it with a little soap and water . I let it dry overnight and applied a good coat of food grade mineral oil which I had also purchased from HLC. It looked so good that I felt a bit guilty using a knife on it for the first time.
