The Hardwood Lumber Company manufactures high quality handscraped landing treads (nosing) at affordable prices. You will be very happy with the quality of our handscraped landing treads. Our handscraped landing treads are milled with new state of the art equipment. Landing treads are available in standard sizes or can be custom made to your specifications. Handscraped landing treads are also available in almost any other hardwood species. We also offer other texture options on all our wood landing treads including, wire brushed, sawcut and distressed. All our wood stair parts including handscraped landing treads can be ordered unfinished or prefinished with tread coat. Our tread coat is a very durable two-component, commercial grade conversion varnish specifically made for high traffic ares. We can also stain your handscraped landing treads with a standard stain color or apply a custom stain of your choice. We also provide stain match service. We offer handscraped landing treads in 3-1/2" and 5-1/2" depth and up to 8' long. Our landing tread is 1" thick, and rabbeted to 3/4" thick, with a groove to fit standard 3/4" hardwood flooring, overhang is 1-1/4".

All handscraped stair parts are custom made to order. Unfinished handscraped stair parts ship in 3 to 4 weeks. Prefinished handscraped stair parts ship in 4 to 5 weeks.

Birch

Birch sapwood is creamy white to yellowish, while the heartwood is reddish brown. Birch has a straight, close grain and a fine, even texture. The wood of birch is heavy, hard and strong. Birch takes stain extremely well. We use only the higher quality grades of birch lumber for our products.
