White oak sapwood is light-colored and the heartwood is light to dark brown. White oak is mostly straight-grained with a medium to coarse texture, with longer rays than red oak. White oak therefore has more figure. We use only the higher quality grades of white oak lumber for our stair treads.

White oak stair treads are available in standard sizes or can be custom made to your specifications. Stair treads and risers are also available in almost any other hardwood species.
All sizes are overall including the return(s). For example a single return 36" tread will have a 34-3/4" throat size.
