Our stair treads and risers are milled with new state of the art equiptment. We can make the stair treads with a left or right hand return. Or we can make them with a double end return to any length. We can also make stair treads and risers in almost any other hardwood species.
Soft Maple. In most respects soft maple is very similar to hard maple. Generally soft maple sapwood is greyish white. The heartwood varies from light to dark reddish brown. Soft Maple is usually straight-grained and has low shock resistance. Soft maple is about 25 percent less hard than hard maple. We use only the highest grades of soft maple for our stair treads.
