Our stair treads and risers are milled with new state of the art equipment. We can make the stair treads with a left hand, right hand, or double end return to any length. We can also make stair treads and risers in almost any other hardwood species.
Poplar. Poplar sapwood is creamy white and may be streaked, with the heartwood varying from pale yellowish brown to olive green. Poplar heartwood will tend to darken on exposure to light and turn brown. Poplar has a medium to fine texture and is straight-grained and has a comparatively uniform texture. Poplar takes and holds paint, enamel and stain exceptionally well. We use poplar with tight sound knots and other small imperfections for our carpet grade stair treads.
