|The Hardwood Lumber Company specializes in quality custom-made wood butcher block countertops. All of our beech butcher block countertops are custom-made to your specifications at our manufacturing facility in Burton, Ohio. Our staff consists mostly of local Amish woodworkers. We can make wood butcher block countertops 3'' thick on smaller tops and up 72'' wide by 15' long depending on the species you choose. We also make wood countertops in mixed species.
Our beech butcher block countertops are made from 1'' strips glued together running the full length of the top. We do not butt joint or finger joint any of our strips! We use a water-resistant glue for all the wood countertops.

BEECH. Beech sapwood is white with a red tinge, while the heartwood is light to dark reddish brown. Beech is generally straight-grained with a close uniform texture. Beech is classed as heavy, hard, strong, high in resistance to shock and good resistance to abrasive wear. We use only the higher quality grades of beech lumber for our butcher block countertops.
